world travel
thereismoss asked:

My best friends and I are planning an overseas trip after we graduate college this year. We are an adventurous group (of about 8 females depending who can make it) who have already done extensive world travel on our own.
The all female part makes us question traveling to some places, but here’s what we’ve narrowed it down to…

Egypt
Cambodia
Thailand
Nepal
Croatia
Indonesia
Morocco
Senegal

I have my grandparents’ 19 scrapbooks of world travel, is anyone interested in them–they’re amazing?

My grandfather was an accomplished chemist and lectured all over the world, allowing my grandparents to travel. They were both scientists at heart, documenting every detail of travel and daily life over their trips from 1952-1997. These albums are amazing and being wasted sitting in a closet unseen. Is there a world history or world cultures teacher out there who would use them? How about a travel history professor? Help! What could I do with these priceless pieces of history!?!??! Highlights include menus from the Andrea Dora, receipts from every economy, detailed travel logs, recipes, etc.

I’ve heard/read that most of Panama and Nicaragua are infested with guerrillas. I’m up for adventure (I want to circumnavigate most of South America) but I don’t want to die!! Can it be done safely? I’m looking for the cheapest way to South America…and flying ain’t cheap.

Is it better to travel alone or with a companion with no set destination?

Mavrick asked:

My g/f and both want to not have a permanent address for awhile. We have skills that allow us to work pretty much anywhere, or find work wherever we go. But lately she seems (though she planted the idea in my head) more inclined to stay where she is and do the bare minimum to get by than go out across the US and work hard to keep moving along. I’ve lived in NJ for 24 years (all my life) and am eager to hit the road and not turn back until i’ve been satisfied with seeing enough. The real question revolves around wanting someone to share the adventure with… is it better to have a g/f for that or just to meet people along the way who wish to head elsewhere.
